Residents and Stakeholders of East Gwillimbury,
In times of challenge, the strength of a community is truly revealed. As some of you may already be aware, our esteemed Mayor and Regional Councillor, Virginia Hackson, is currently on three-month medical leave. We extend our heartfelt wishes for her speedy recovery and look forward to her return.
During Mayor Hackson's absence, the responsibility of leading and representing our wonderful town falls upon a previously determined rotating schedule of Councillors, and to date, we have been following of the leadership of Councillor Scott Crone. His dedication and service to East Gwillimbury have been wholly evident, and we are grateful for his commitment to our community.
As of December 1st, I will be stepping into the role of Acting Mayor and Regional Councillor. I am both honoured and humbled to take on this responsibility and continue the excellent work that Mayor Hackson and Acting Mayor Crone have initiated.
December 1st to March 31st
During the period while Mayor Hackson is away, my focus will be on maintaining the momentum of progress within East Gwillimbury. Collaboration with fellow councillors, engagement with community members, and advocacy for the needs of our town will be at the forefront of my agenda. I am committed to ensuring that the interests of our residents are well-represented, and that East Gwillimbury remains a vibrant and thriving community.
Community Input Matters
Your thoughts, concerns, and ideas are invaluable to me. I encourage each and every one of you to reach out, whether through town hall meetings, community forums, or directly through email. Your input will guide my decisions and help shape the direction we take during this period.
Transparent Communication
Open communication is key to a successful community. I am committed to keeping you informed about important developments, projects, and decisions that impact East Gwillimbury. Regular updates will be provided through official town channels, and I will be accessible to address any questions or concerns you may have.
As always, I am looking forward.
Brian Johns
