Strong leadership means protecting established neighbourhoods while managing growth. It means finding efficiencies to deliver on limiting tax increases. Strong leadership must manage our community to ensure it is maturing at a pace that provides the services we expect.
QUALITY OF LIFE AND ENVIRONMENT
All of us chose East Gwillimbury to be our home because of the opportunity it provides to live a better quality of life. This includes protecting our environment against a changing climate and protecting our natural heritage, parks and trails, which are critical to ensuring East Gwillimbury can continue to be a community we can all be proud of.
Rapid growth has dramatically increased traffic concerns in our neighbourhoods. Through differentiated speed mitigation tools currently at the town’s disposal, and increased awareness with York Regional Police, safety on our neighbourhood streets needs to be a top priority.
PARKS, RECREATION AND TRAILS
We need to continue to improve and expand our delivery of recreational and cultural services. Whether it be new parks or bettering existing play areas, trail connectivity and capacity, or increased services such as local pool facilities, East Gwillimbury needs to be a community that is celebrated for its services.
